RMFL League All-Star Game
North 22 South 14
In a great game and a beautiful night for football the North team defeated the South team in the Rural Manitoba Football League All-Star game. On the final play of the game the South scrimmaged from the North 17 yard line, but the North defence stood strong and kept them out of the endzone. In a game that started slow (0-0) at halftime, it sure turned out to be a barn burner in the second half with the teams exchanging touchdowns and the lead. The key plays in the game for the North were 2 huge second down conversion, one of which a second and 38, was turned into a 67 yard touchdown catch by Eric Klein of the Swan Valley Tigers. Both teams had a good running game going highlighted by big runs from Kyle Johansen of the Swan Valley Tigers for the North, and Gage Martinook of the Parkwest Outlaws for the South. It was a great showcase for the players from the RMFL and a great opportunity to play under the lights at a very nice facility. After the game a number of players were approached from scouts from the U of M Bisons, the Winnipeg Rifles, and the Fort Garry Lions. Great job to all the players and coaches from both teams. You represented the Rural Manitoba Football League very well!
