Larry Thiessen Memorial - Coach of the Year
The Larry Thiessen Memorial Trophy is named after long time coach of the RMFL Souris Sabres, Larry Thiessen. He coached in Souris for 30 years, and is known for having a huge impact on his players and students. This was demonstrated by the crowd of over 800 people at his funeral. He was also commissioner of the RMFL for several years, and was instrumental in keeping the league going when it was down to 3 teams. He always stressed good sportsmanship to his players, coaches and other teams. The RMFL is proud to name the league trophy for Coach of the Year in his name.
